Naturally leavened.
Relentlessly.

Our story

From a weekend farm stand to a place of our own.

Honey Badger started in 2023 as a woman-owned microbakery and farm stand in Mason. Handcrafted, naturally leavened breads and scratch-made sweets sold to neighbors who kept coming back for more. Word got around. The farm stand developed a following.

This August we're opening the doors to a brick-and-mortar bakehouse at 121 W Maple Street. Same stubborn standards, same rotating lineup of breads, bars and cakes, now with a real counter to lean on.

Everything is made by hand, in small batches, on the dough's own schedule. Sourdough doesn't rush, and neither do we.

Why "honey badger"

Fearless about doing it the slow way.

  • Naturally leavened: wild yeast, long ferment, real time.
  • Scratch-made: no mixes, no shortcuts, no apologies.
  • A menu that changes with the week and the season.

From the farm & home

More than what's in the oven.

Alongside the bread, we hand-pour and hand-make a little of everything else, the same small-batch way, all out of Mason.
